Kratom grows naturally in Southeast Asia – Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. The majority of the kratom in the marketplace comes from the latter two countries on this list. A typical plant, or “Kratom Forest” grows within a rainforest environment and can be anything from 6ft to 20ft tall. Leaves are typically harvested by rural farmers and dried then and there. The dried leaves are then either chopped or finely ground and then packaged to be shipped to to one of the capital cities in Malaysia of Indonesia, and then shipped abroad to the United States, Canada, and Europe.
